Is Twinspires available in Canada? You may have heard of this program. It’s been around for a while and offers wonderful support to twin parents and their kids. If you are a twin or know a twin, there are many things you should know.
First, what is it? Twinspires is a network of support group for twin and sibling families located in Canada. These families come together to share their experiences and learn from others. Support groups are held monthly and often have other adults that are not family members attending. All are welcome to attend.
Second, why is it available in Canada? Inspire is a program created by volunteers who wanted to see if it would be a good fit for someone in Canada. The program was started in the United States. Through the program many sponsorships have come in and more sponsors are applying each month. Programs are held in a variety of cities across the United States. These programs have been very successful because of the group of people who are helping each other through the program.

Why do I need a twin support group? In most cases twin individuals need more individualized help than they get from a support group. There is not one size fits all with the transpire program. If you or your child is struggling and have not found a program that meets your needs individually consider a twin program.
How much does it cost to join? For an organization to be recognized as an official program in a city there must be a majority of members within the city that participate. Even if this is the case the cost for the program will still usually be cheaper than some other sports or dance clubs. The price of the program is around $100 per month in most cases.
Is there a membership fee? With most programs there is not a membership fee. However, if you need to have access to a specific trainer it may require a monthly fee. There is usually also a suggested amount of classes you are supposed to take. If you stay within the suggested number of classes per month there is no additional charge for this requirement.
Can I join a support group outside of the transpire program? Many support groups can help you regardless of if you are a twin or not. They are specifically designed for people who have a twin. They will not have the same goals as the transpire program, but they will have the same interest in working towards a common goal. It is a great idea to join these support groups because it allows you to meet and work together with others who have the same goals as you.
Can I work with other twins while I am on the program? While twins will be very supportive of each other, there will be times when one of you is going through a rough patch. That is okay; you can always work with your partner. Once you finish the program and move onto other training programs, you can continue to work with one another outside of the program. The only rule is that you must maintain your relationship with your co-therapist during the course of the program in order to continue to work together after your training is complete.
