” documentary on sports betting” is the name of my newest movie which I am directing and starring in. It is a 90 minute long documentary that will hit theaters later this year. The title is derived from the words of the late Larry Griswold, who was the legendary writer of the book and movie “Lets Do It”. I met him many years ago while doing research for my project and got to know him very well.
This is the first project of my career as an independent movie producer and I can’t wait to get it out there. Myself have been studying and writing about sports betting systems for years now and today as a passionate, experienced and knowledgeable handicapper/sports bettor I feel as though I have something new to offer to people. This film should be a huge hit and if it is as good as the book it should rake in some serious money. If you have ever wondered how professional gamblers make their incredible successful bets and strategies then this is your chance to find out and make some solid bets on your favorite teams and/or athletes.
I have researched and written extensively on the subject matter of the sports betting industry. I’ve spoken with several people in the gambling world including the best selling author, Jonathon Simmons. One thing that he has always said is that the best athletes in any sport will always be tempted to use illegal performance enhancing drugs. Sports gamblers are taking a serious risk today by keeping these players on their books because of the risk of getting caught.
My research has shown and I’ve seen firsthand that many bookmakers are now making billions of dollars each year from the illegal betting of professional sports gamblers. I also found out that many countries around the world have strong regulation and laws against sports betting fraud. One such place is Las Vegas, which has the largest number of professional bettors in the world. Most of these gamblers are from the United States and they are willing to risk their hard-earned money in order to win big. Unfortunately there are some unscrupulous people who take advantage of the legal grey area that is in the United States but their are also many honest everyday people who are doing the right thing and they too will eventually fall into the trap set up by some of the high profile gamblers.
The film “icles” the lives of three individuals who are at the forefront of the sports betting industry. The movie was produced by Lions Gate Entertainment and distributed by MGM. The documentary was highly critical of the Las Vegas sports books and also the Las Vegas gambling system, which I believe is doing a fantastic job of informing the public about the importance of placing their bets correctly. One thing I like about the documentary, which ties into my next paragraph, is that it focuses more on the players and their trainers more so than it does the bookmakers or the system of which they are working.
The documentary goes into great detail about how the Las Vegas sports books came about, what they do, how they make their profit and why the bookmakers are not regulated in order to protect the players and the gaming industry from organized crime. It is interesting stuff and would be an interesting watch for any sports nut. It is important to remember though that this is only a documentary on sports betting and not a documentary on the Las Vegas gambling system or any other sports betting system for that matter. The film is more of an educational piece with information to help educate people about the sports betting industry. If you are going to place a bet then make sure you have the facts before you do it.
