Do you have your NHL Postseason Predictions for the Toronto Maple Leafs? The Toronto Maple Leafs is one team that I feel has a good chance at winning the Stanley Cup this year. This year they will probably be better than they were last year when they missed the playoffs completely. With so many quality players on the team including Nazem Kadri, Alex Chiasson, Mike Bernier, James Reimer, and many more, there is a very good chance that the team will go far in the playoffs. Here are some of my Postseason Predictions for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The first thing that I think that the team needs to do is to make some short-term upgrades to their team. The team has several good players but they are not one or two deep. With that being said, the Maple Leafs will need to acquire some top notch players in order to improve their depth and create an even stronger roster. Right now there is not a lot of depth on the Blue-Ledger “B” line, which is why the offense has been so bad this year. That being said, I expect the offense to pick up right around the trade deadline.
Another factor that I think the team needs to address is their defense. The last time that the Maple Leafs went into a playoff series they were not nearly as good at defense as they are this year. The bottom line is that the defense of the team is what is going to carry them to a victory in any situation. I don’t see any reason that the Maple Leafs can continue to go into the postseason with a weak defensive force.
The only way that I think the Maple Leafs will get past the New York Rangers in the first round is if they beat the Philadelphia Flyers in a best-of-three series. If the Flyers win that series, I believe the Toronto Maple Leafs has a much better chance of going to the Eastern Conference Finals. There is no doubt that the Flyers are going to be the better team but if you take the better team into account, the fact remains that the Toronto Maple Leafs is a far more talented team.
The last piece of information that I am going to give you in my Toronto Maple Leafs NHL Playoffs predictions is that the team is not likely to go into the off season looking to unload any of their established players. The Maple Leafs have many decent young players that they will probably try to hang onto, rather than sending them into the trade market. This shows that the management in Toronto realizes that they could very well end up in a deep, competitive fight for the second place in the Atlantic Division once the season starts. I believe they still believe in the potential of Nazem Kadri and Lupul as players that can lead the team to even greater things.
I would urge you to take a look at all of the details that I have mentioned here. The Toronto Maple Leafs is definitely an interesting team to follow throughout the entire year. The Eastern Conference is filled with quality teams that will be tough for the home teams to win with. Make sure that you have your predictions ready for the end of the year, because the race for second place in the Atlantic Division is about to get interesting.
